About Us

Commissioner Kathie Gannon

Kathie Gannon has served on the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners since January 2005, representing Super District 6, the western half of DeKalb County. Super District 6 includes portions of South, Central and North DeKalb County with approximately 350,000 residents.

Commissioner Gannon's primary focus has been in the areas of land use and planning, the environment and conservation, protection of established neighborhoods and issues that impact our youth and senior citizens. She serves on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Steering Committee for Environment, Energy and Land Use and in 2010 was appointed as an Advisory Board Member to the NACo Green Government Initiative.

Kelly Cato - Constituent Services Coordinator

Kelly Cato has joined the staff of District 6. She recently transitioned from District 7, after the office closed, bringing a wealth of information, resources and experience with DeKalb County Government, operations, and services.  Prior to D7, Kelly worked at the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office in Human Resources, Information Systems, and Health Services. She is proud to continue her family tradition of public service.  Having careers in corporate America, non-profit, and with DeKalb, she continues her drive with her "purpose" as an advocate for others and her community.

Kelly loves her Southern heritage and describes herself as an "urban, southern belle." She is an avid football fan who, although her alma mater is the University of Hawaii, proudly "bleeds" red and black, which she sports frequently during football season as a true, diehard, Dawg and Falcon fan.  She has lived in DeKalb County for over 2 decades, raising her children, who proudly are former DeKalb County students.  Kelly is married to (retired) Chief Jeff Cato, cherishes her blended family, 3 grandsons, and a grand puppy.

Davis Fox - Policy Analyst and Project Manager

With a background in city planning, public policy research, economic development, energy conservation and private sector development, Davis brings a breadth of experience to assist Commissioner Gannon on issues coming before the Board of Commissioners. Davis was on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Regional Commission from 2002-2011.

Jasmine Ponder - Communications/Special Projects Intern

Jasmine Ponder is a senior and Economics major at Agnes Scott College. She brings her talents to District 6 as the Communications/Special Projects Intern, but she is no stranger to DeKalb County as she has worked with our Finance Department and the DeKalb Solicitor General previously. Jasmine is also a product of the DeKalb County School system.

Jasmine is an avid service member to her campus and community. She hopes to continue this love of service, in addition to also running for public office in the future after being inspired by her experiences with DeKalb County.
